Endurance of heat transfers is key. Whether it's your sports team's logo or a stylish design, the durability is a crucial factor that can make or break a product.
At dekoGraphics, quality is at the core of what we. This blog post is all about providing you with more insights into our internal quality control, to give you a clearer picture of how we ensure the durability of our products.
Our heat transfers go through some serious application and wash tests before bulk production. Why do we do this? It's simple: to avoid surprises and ensure you receive top-quality products that last.
Imagine a fan receiving a new jersey, only to see the logo peeling off after a few washes. That's disappointing, right? To prevent such scenarios, we subject our logos to real-life wash cycles and application scenarios. This helps us identify potential challenges and address them before reaching you.
Our commitment goes beyond standard testing. After application, our quality control team carefully check the designs, evaluating factors such as adhesion, colour vibrancy and overall appearance of the heat transfers. Sublimation, critical in textile embellishment especially for sports apparel, is a primary focus during this evaluation.
Modern football jerseys often use a dye-sublimation printing process to imprint designs. This process involves printing the design onto special sublimation paper and then applying the design under heat and pressure to bond with the fabric fibers.
Note: if additional heat transfer logos, like club logos or sponsor logos, are later applied, the fabric can reactivate during heat pressing. This reactivation could potentially cause issues over time, resulting in "bleeding" or rather colour migration for the later applied logos due to interaction with the fabric's dyes. These issues might not be immediately apparent but become visible over time, affecting the overall quality of the logos.
To counter this, we conduct an oven test. We expose our heat transfers to controlled oven heat, simulating long-term garment life. This provides insights into how our logos interact with the fabric, allowing us to adjust and strengthen our logos by incorporating specialized dye migration blockers. These blockers act as a safeguard, preserving the intended colours and preventing any migration-related issues. This proactive approach ensures the long-term vibrancy and quality of the entire design.
